Description
This is a painting of a cat sleeping only as a cat can sleep--deeply, confidently, soundly. The cat is sprawled on a potted plant, smashing the greens around him. Lush plants--vegetables and flowers--grow in the garden and there is a basket on the ground and a hoe and rake leaning against the fence. A stone path leads through a gate and continues to a cottage house in the distance. There are grassy hills and trees around the house and far away, a mountain looms. The sky is bright yellow, lit up by the sun.
