A lady and a bird staring intently at each other. The bird is perched on the lady's finger; the ladies other hand grips her robe. The lady's feet just show at the bottom of her robe. Behind the bird and lady is a swirl of colors, created using a harmonograph, a 19th century drawing machine that uses the power and periodicity of pendulums to create geometric shapes.

Teresamarie Yawn creates art that is fantastical, mysterious, and surreal; as well, it can be precise, scientific, and logical. She covers a wide range of topics and captures events from the everyday to the Earth-shattering, and views them from micro- to macroscopic vantage points. As well as paintings and drawings, she creates harmonograph art using a harmonograph (a 19th century instrument that creates geometric designs using the power and periodicity of pendulums).
