Description
Me and my husband, Jimmy Yawn, doing laundry in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The hotel we were staying at did not have laundry facilities, but they directed us to a nearby hotel that was under construction but had a room with a functional washer and dryer. While our laundry processed, Jimmy and I sat outside on a couple of chairs we found. Jimmy read a book on Rocks and enjoyed a beer. I read a book on Mimbres Art. The sun, as usual in New Mexico, was super-bright, lighting up the landscape. Jimmy took a picture of us on a timer and later, when we returned home, I did this painting based on that photograph.
