Description
A lady listens in the night. She has her hand cupped to her ear. She might be a princess, for she wears a double hennin with streamers and has a long, thick braid. Who, or what, is she listening for, in the quiet and dark night? The colorful swirls were created using a harmonograph, a 19th century drawing machine that uses the power and periodicity of pendulums to create geometric designs.
