Description
A small abandoned house sits at the top of Cerro Uyuca in Honduras. Moss covered stairs, thick vegetation on either side, lead up to house. It is a mysterious house, old, broken down and overgrown with plants--it is being reclaimed by the Earth. The house is in a cloud forest, a misty, beautiful place filled with bromeliads and diverse trees and insects. "Cerro" means "hill" in Spanish, but Cerro Uyuca passes as a mountain with a height of 5,410 feet above sea level. It is located 9 miles from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, and 18 miles from Escuela Agricola Panamericana Zamorano (Zamorano Pan-American Agricultural School). I went to Cerro Uyuca to search for a little fly I was researching and I stayed at Zamorano. But wouldn't it have been fun to have stayed at this house?
